A Shadow

she is but a shadow of what
she once was
her outline
her form
is there
but her details
her life
her soul
is gone
death does not stare at her
he wouldn't be that patent
but instead he hides in the corner
his looming presence greater each day
and death is cruel
he does not arise quickly
he slowly creeps
his darkness quietly consuming her
and making her
a
shadow.
