Daddy

My daddy died
with a needle in his arm
Guess he didnt think
He'd do any harm
He didn't think
Bout his baby girl back home
Didn't think about how he was leaving her alone
Now i cried for my daddy
in the middle of the night
I don't care what they say
This isn't right
daddy please come home for me
Come save your little girl
Guess I wasn't important enough
To stay in this world
Daddy please come back to me
Come back home
I'm lost and broken without you
Why'd you leave me... alone?
Now I lie in bed
Blade in my arm
He didn't think he was
Doing any harm
Now this little girl
Is lost in her own broken world
Trying to num the pain just like her daddy did
She takes the razor
Tries to end her life
Ill be with daddy soon
It will be alright
daddy please come home for me
Come save your little girl
Guess I wasn't important enough
To stay in this world
But Daddy please come back to me
Come back home
I'm lost and broken without you
Why'd you leave me... alone?

My father killed himself of a heroin overdose when I was a toddler. This poem was inspired by the mental disorder he passed onto me, and the struggles I face in life without him.
