I.
A fire ignites gladdly on the stove, tea kettle pealing frantically
while salt and canola oil singe away the ceiling and ascend.

II.
A strange, red fabric pools in the sky,
offers billows of smoke to fill a white balloon.

III.
A sudden wave of heat is nothing more
than the train of a gorgon's sacrimental dress.

IV.
The hush after a wildfire is far from silent,
after all, it is then that the ground refills,
the pop of seeds exploding out of the earth,
tossed into the underbrush like rice at a wedding.

How's it going!? I haven't been on here much either, but it looks like you've done really well lately, especially with your artwork. Congrats on getting published! I'll send you an email tonight (my address is literally my name). Happy A-Few-Months-Till-Your-Birthday-Early-Birthday!

When i was little/I used to point a chubby finger toward the dark sky/And ask my father/why some stars moved and others didn’t/He would laugh and explain that some were airplanes/I still wish on them today ~ Laugh-It-Out
The feathers of a crow are black/The ink of my pen is blacker/The pain of my heart is blackest~ Mckay
If love produced a blossom/I’d take it in my palm/What a blessing, the bright color!/How soothing, such a balm!/I’d keep a petal for my own/The rest, drop from my hands/For such a flower would multiply/And populate the lands~ thesilentraven
And I began to rival legends/Long entombed before my birth./But for all my much envied fame/The lust for more would not abate./The plaques and prizes with my name/Will, like all things, disintegrate. ~ TheEpic95 now known as Helena_Noel

EMMM My favourite professional dragon rider. HOW I HAVE MISSED THEE! I must commend your vocabulary and diction. For there were quite a few words I had to look up. I know I have had quite a hiatus on here. I must inform you that I shall be leaving TeenInk soon (some months) as I turn twenty. Therefore I had to come and see more of your work. And shall be doing so for the next few months as well. Also my friend, I do not wish to lose all contact so email me if you wish: dua.jas(attherateof)hotmail.com
