Umbrella and the Hurricane

When it's pouring,
and the rain is at your door;
you want to sprint away
from the looming thunderheads,
black with the heavy rain;
you want to flee in terror
from the turmoiled waves,
towering high above your head,
threatening to crash down,
and destroy everything,
taking you down into it's dark depths.
And you've just had,
you've had it
with the howling winds,
the distorted views,
the harsh pounding
of the merciless rain,
the catastrophe of noise,
and the chaos of the storm.
I may not believe this,
but I'll say it anyway,
don't worry,
this hurricane will pass,
as they always do.
And since it's raining now,
I'll shelter you
with my yellow umbrella.
I'll hold you
as the bass drumming
of the thunder rolls,
and we'll bundle up
against the bone-chilling cold.
So while this hurricane is here,
come and find me,
I'm just around the bend,
I'll be there,
with my yellow umbrella,
where I'll teach you
to dance in the rain,
and help you find the sun and stars
through the heavy, thick clouds.

The author's comments:
A friend of mine was driving through a storm, and he admitted to me that he was scared, and I told him not to be afraid, and gave him very good reasons why he had no reason to be afraid. He inspired me to write this poem, so, shout out to my best friend.
