Red Roses & Heartache
Little old me
And little young you
I was one of many
While you were one of few
Best friends we would be
Memories we would make
With you I felt free
Without you I would ache
That’s the price you pay
Of having a best friend
I could not convey
How I never wanted it to end
But that is life
Although unfair
It is what it is
But rather hard to bare
The end was near
But life still remained
It was much too clear
I was much too drained
Pain fades
But demands to be felt
With my hair in braids
I somehow dealt
You were so brave
So callous, so kind
Endearing to crave
With your brilliant mind
Seemingly insignificant
While utterly paramount
These memories are infinite
Why doesn't that count?
