Cole G.
Me
The vulnerable, scared
Little freshman
Happy and naïve
Until my life slowly fell
Apart
Him
Built and seductive
With nauseating cologne
And a crude sense of humor
And an interest in me,
But only for selfish purposes
Me
Wistful and bewildered with nowhere to
Turn to except for my own thoughts
With self confidence the size of
A penny, and loneliness the size of
A mountain
Him
With nothing better to do than
Wreak havoc through my life.
To become a storm and leave nothing
But debris and sadness
In his wake
Me
Metamorphosized into a monster
Who cared about him and only him
Who had nobody else in life
But didn't care
Because his smile could melt away everything
Him
With the smile that didn't mean anything
Because this was all a game to him
And my heart, was just a pawn
Behind an army of other pawns
In his chess game of life
Me
Who didn't listen to the warnings
Who threw caution to the wind
And I guess they were right when they said
"When you play with fire,
You are bound to get burned."
