Sometimes I see

Sometimes I see,
Dark dead waters,
Watching, waiting,
For me to enter.
For fears of failure,
Fears of no return,
Fears of disappointment,
I hesitate.
Persevering,
Taking great effort,
Feeling unsure, lost,
Carrying doubt.
Diving in,
With hope,
With courage,
With fear still lurking behind.
Underwater,
No sight,
No return,
Swimming blindly, determinedly.
Through the dark I see,
Light like hope drifting, waiting above,
Bursting through,
Breathing fresh, new air.
On the other side,
With success,
With dignity,
With fears now only a memory.
