Wearily

What's all wearily asleep
from expecting boxes and windows
which got neither
From expecting kisses like a
summer breeze but not as passing
Windows wanted to open to a warmth
to stay
A sun shines softly and always blue
The drapes are also weary from
seeing purple clouds to the North
And it is difficult
to find direction in a star
obscured in blackest night with no
infinity
Wearily work anticipated rivals to
fall short
And they always do
And we did

The author's comments:
A poem about how life, and people, can fall short of our expectations, and how we often fall short of theirs.
