We are the Cause

"Just be happy"
They told us.
"We would if we could"
We whispered in reply.

They blame it on society,
Not realizing we,
All of us, everyone,
Are that society.

WE are the ones making ourselves
Unhappy.
WE are killing ourselves.

WE are the cause
Of the pain
And the hurt.

But WE
Are the only ones
Who know how to fix us.
