The Glass

It is not true to say
that a glass is empty.
A glass is always full
of tasteless oxygen
when not occupied by
liquid, water or juice.
Solid or clear, cold to the
touch, useless when broken.
Sharp and jagged when it
falls on the floor, harmful
when touched in pieces.

Beware it’s pointed edge;
don’t let it hit the ground.

The glass is a vessel;
used as a metaphor,
fill it rich with your dreams,
a glass is always full.

This is a poem of abundance I wrote for a creative writing class at school. Every line is 6 syllables.
