Scars
1. I never imagined I would ever intentionally bring harm to myself, to this body I grew up in catching lightning bugs, and chasing my sister and cows at the farm while my mom picked berries.
2. I never saw myself as ugly; that was until 7th grade.
3. I know what you're thinking, "oh 7th grade sucks for everyone." But don't you dare categorize me into a lump of kids who got a couple bad grades, and lost a few friends.
4. I still remember the first time I picked up that cold piece of metal, and how it's touch felt foreign due to its new intention of horrors.
5. February, 2012. First cut, no going back.
6. Plans of suicide before age 13.
7. Therapy twice a week, constantly hearing, "how does that make you feel?"
8. Medicated. Oh, the joys of an antidepressant.
9. Not getting any better, despite the meds and the therapy.
10. Started high school, still hating every part of myself.
11. Doctors and therapists, all while thinking, "why can't I just be normal?"
12. The age I was when I started a nasty bad habit that continues to haunt me to this day.
