for what it's work. if anything at all

I watched us fall in love
blue and white, animated ellipses biting my nails at how you would answer my questions
I woke up to your words, I fell upon my phone eager to what I had missed

I was always falling asleep first

I fell in love with you
through the airy dark blue of my bedroom and I watched you
like an architect, watched and traced
drafting blue prints of body on the back or your hand until you got it all right
revolving around each other like planets as the sheets were space, tangling as we did
still as we were
I fell in love with you as you lay wrapped in my white sheets
your body contoured in the 5 am sunlight when you ask what time is it? There are birds chirping

Our bodies fit together
Me caes bien
I fall to you well
We’re like an ethereal puzzle and I’m not giving it up

I fell in love with you when I fell apart
breathing life into an abandoned home buckling in small breezes

I tell you this for what it’s worth
I tell you this with the meager hope that in the grand scheme of things it’s worth something at all
I tell you this because it would be an insult to you for our love not to matter
That you’re a god damn angel and I want you forever, baby
