Tomorrow
Deep in this void of tomorrow
There exists a place
Where enemies lurk along the horizon
Waiting for a chance
To snatch kindness from the amiable
To vanquish creativity and
Bask in the glory of insipidness
This is a place where
Human nature is weak,
Blindness is willful,
Color cannot speak for the mute
And power lies in the hands
Of those who wish to destroy
This place, however, has a weakness;
The very thing it has worked to ruin.
Compassion,
From the lightest pastels
To the darkest hues
Through the Act of one
The Plan of a group
The Movement of millions…
Because the only cure for the void of tomorrow
Is the strength of human clemency;
Burning more vivid by the moment,
Fighting for the home it’s lost,
Fighting and winning.
For this action feeds on
The strength of subtle reaction,
The chain of events, teetering
And tipped by a single
Kind act.
Just as plants need water
To grow,
Victory in the void
Needs the small actions
Of real people to flourish
And flourish it shall
For in strength, kindness always will.
