Where Did You Go?
“I can’t sleep,”
She whispered softly.
I let her climb in bed.
I held her close to me all night,
Unable to tell reality from my vivid hallucinations.
Her skin was cold and clammy,
Where has she been?
I turned over,
And she placed her arm around me.
Her cold skin sent shivers up my spine.
I could feel her breathing on my neck.
I woke up expecting her to be there.
She was gone.
I was terrified; you can tell she has been here.
She left something behind.
The dress she had been buried in,
Three weeks before, still laid where she once was.
