Could You Imagine?
Could you imagine if school sports were dropped?
Gone, completely non-existent?
Patches of rust on lockers shriek lonely cries only to be smacked back with the sound of silence.
No more would players glide upon the paint-branded blades of grass.
The ebullient roars of a Friday-night game would all be sucked away through a vacuum of neglect.
But hey, funding must go to more important school functions.
Could you imagine if something like this happened to you?
Well, I could imagine it happening to me.
Not to your sports, but to mine.
What makes players superior to dancers?
Why does a lacrosse stick get special treatment over a flute?
How come a playbook beats out a musical script?
Trust me, sports are beneficial.
They are significant to a school, just as arts are.
Could you imagine if theatre departments were dropped?
Gone, vanquished to the abyss?
No more would dancers leap across the ballet slipper-scratched stage.
The fervent ovations of a Saturday-night performance would die a distant death.
But hey, the arts don't deserve funds.
The arts don't matter as much.
No one cares about the arts.
I do.
Could you imagine if arts were forgotten?
This will certify that the enclosed work is completely original.
