Not So Easy
I’ve been told that love is a feeling quite indescribable
When I met you I thought that I could finally understand what love meant.
It turns out it wasn’t exactly how it had been described.
When I see you, butterflies flutter in my stomach
I’ve realized they were never butterflies, but bees
Stinging the profoundest parts of me.
How foolish of me to believe that I was the only star in your solar system.
I thought our gravitational pull would last forever.
Now a black hole is what desires me.
Anxiety and discomfort runs in my veins
My mind doesn’t think about any other thought but you
My muscles ache without you
Stop planting flowers in my yard if you aren’t going to water them
I didn’t know love was so painful
Is this really what love means?
