He sees her coming and groans
The girl who can’t seem to decide on who she is.
One moment enthused, the next angry.
Utterly bipolar, he thinks.
Incredibly rude about the way she speaks her mind
Doesn’t care who she hurts;
A bully.
How could someone like her be redeemable?
A malice, a mistake to society.
Bipolar.

The truth is, my life is not the best
People like the boy who just gave me a look
Don’t understand what is going on with me.
My words are lashes.
That’s because I have to save my good words to build myself up.
I am a girl who is frustrated. I speak my mind because there is nothing else to speak of.
I am utterly bipolar.
I’m unpredictable, one moment enthused, the next angry;
How could I be redeemable?
A malice, a mistake to society.
Bipolar.

The author's comments:
This piece is inspired off a friend that I have. They have to deal with Bipolar disorder day after day, and it is just so hard to do. And they don't feel good about themselves. It doesn't have a happy ending, but the poem definitely implies there could be one if someone would take the time to get to know this person. "Bipolar" is an inside/outside format, meaning from the perspective of someone watching the individual from the outside and then switching to the perspective of the individual.
