Fragile lotus, dancer on water
The brightness in darkness
And gentle with mind
With pale petals and a pure soul

Blossom:
Merciful and compassionate
What terrible sin have you committed
That led you to this doom?

The tender petals now wither,
And fades away the light
Suffering wraps your soul

Unfortunate lotus...
To deserve such a ruinous end
No evil have you performed

That deep sapphire sky
At the end is nothing
But a pitch-black valley full of agony
Your tenderness without being appreciated

You merit no less than
The sunrise on a summer morning
And the luminous stars on a winter night
A reward for your kindness

Why would your creator bring you to life,
If at the end there is nothing more than
Shattered glass?

The author's comments:
Throughout my life, I had the opportunity to get to know and be surrounded by kind-hearted people. People who are caring, supportive thoughtful, kind and immensely unique. However, I also have had the misfortune of see them suffer experiences which they did not deserved, to see them disappear.
