Mama, I miss you
Mama's baby, don't cry now
what do you have to river about
you know just how strong you are,
oh for my sake, can't you hold up a falling bridge, I've seen you do it twice

Mama's baby, don't be sad now
grief is just an illusion of faith
why do you wallow in sorrow, covering in mud
you know you're always smiling about the sundown wind

 Mama's baby, don't long
life is too short to long
Now the chickadee never returns to the nest
keep up the faithful hope that the clouds will block the shade

 Mama's baby, water the flowers
 they can't grow salty now
I planted a garden pansies last spring
don't let them frost over this june, open the rusty faucet, pick up the pail
