Nothing Matters

I remember when love mattered
Back when I had a soul
Then my insides rotted out
And my heart turned into stone.

I remember when God mattered
Santa and the tooth fairy as well
Reindeer and fairies and happiness
Are as real as heaven and hell.

I remember when life mattered
Before I came to realize
That life is bland and pointless
Without weed, beer, and highs.

I remember when innocence mattered
Before my flower was plucked
Now nothing matters
And I don’t give a f**k.

I remember when this class mattered
Not really, it never did
And I’m so happy summer’s here
So that it will end.
