Her eyes are blue and blinking, shielded behind glasses.
She sees through new eyes as she looks at the me I’ve meant to show her for years.
Her watchful gaze is now like the inevitable arrival of the morning sun - unwavering.
What I wonder as I catch her staring.
She smiles directly at me and that is all the answer I’ve waited for.
