Sleeping Cats
Fuzzy, warm, cuddly little things,
They welcome my entering with joyous high meows
No matter the hour, no matter the day,
They always stay
Deep into the endless nights,
when the studying takes on long hours,
Never will they leave your side
as long as you offer them a warm blanket
Which they lovingly sleep on.
Even at the moment,
as I write this poem,
One lies carelessly on my shoulder.
One paw on my face,
The other acting as her own personal plush pillow
Sweet, delicate, loyal creatures they are
Never scratching nor biting,
always offering the most precious of tail flicks and knowingly stares.
One builds a loving connection,
that lasts forever.
