The Orange Trail
A journey into the forging of tomorrow is like a pilgrimage up an invisible staircase
which you must ascend by descending into a cavern
which you must lead out of with no directions, just light.
To begin you must light a torch of your own and learn to hold it firmly in tempest.
Then is the first take to descent on separate steps for each foot,
red stairs for the right foot, and yellow for the left, slowly joining together
to make one final step of orange.
The converged platforms help create a guide along the floor
that points the way along the long, secret path.
At first the path is smooth and lush with an underground stream as clear as glass
and as pure as gold. A dozen golden years can pass with this innocence
which will never be found again.
Along the way the stream picks up and plummets over a cliff into a sharp, decisive area.
This is where I have stopped to set up a camp and help others get through.
I spend my days and nights learning about this place, it has taken three years to master
and whence I left I was not a youth anymore.
I have yet chosen to stay here longer so that I might know every situation
a passersby might find themselves in.
Beyond where I have camped is yet another rocky ground,
yet different than the one before. One that will take slightly longer to manage,
where one is just a single misstep from abating into an eternal abyss.
I have only peered into the fog in this section of the adventure, however I may be moved on
to guide there at any moment.
A light from above flickers to keep my torch going,
a light so mysterious darkness pales in comparison.
The light comes to help me now,
when I have lost my own way, exploring new areas
which are at first glimpse lonely,
yet I realize the further I go along that I am not alone here.
And that is why I help others find their way through here as well,
to let them know,
they are not alone.
