Society's Lesson
Her wayward beauty
Discovered through Photoshop and lighting
After the flick of a camera’s lense
Shone on glossy covers
Begging to be desired
The lonely infatuation becomes to make my society’s perfection
Taught in aisle classrooms
With size 2 teachers who were created on screens
That aren’t made for reality
Our surroundings push us to be these images
To be flawless and thin
With no help from the graphic gifts presented to our “role models”
But we forget that reality isn’t real
And the injustice of our world
And that everyone is beautiful
Surrounded by the flaws that only they can see
Their sight is clouded
With rainstorms of negativity
That block the gorgeous sun that is them
Our flawed world expects flawlessness
(Isn’t that ironic?)
And once you’ve figured that out-
When size 4 is fat and overpriced is the accepted price…
That is when ignorance is bliss
