Why now? Why me?

The sky twinkles strong and bright throughout the night
A dark, black hole that still sparkles with light
Funny how even in the darkest of places, light prevails.
I stare up at the open blanket above me, bare yet breath-taking
and I cannot help but wonder,
Why me? Why now?
As the luminescent orbs begin to surround me,
the deep fabrics of time unfold around me.
Glimpses of laughter and light engulf my being
Perfect bliss and peace take over and suddenly all I see is light.
Why now? Why me?
