Road Trip of Life

On a road trip with the end in mind
Destination seeming all too far away
Too many detours, too many miles to gain
So much energy needed to hit the target
Is the sacrifice worth the trouble?
Can I endure the pain to find my place?
Thoughts,
Doubts creep into my mind screaming “NO!”
But I keep the end in mind
Saying “Yes!” before the no’s take over my soul
Hardship inevitable, I may crash
I will blow a tire, I will need gas
But I will get to my destination
Scratching and sacrificing to do so
In the end the prize will be worth the fight
And I will be glad I didn’t pull over to stop
