She was that worn blanket that a toddler
Couldn’t set down. She was that imaginary friend
That understood me more than anyone. She was stronger than
Superwoman. She was my grandma.

Though grandchild loves the grandma,
i was on my own level. She was my
Best friend, my only friend.
We were a duo.

We had so much fun together,.
We were inseparable like something out of Frankenstein,
Conjoined at the hip. New and old.
From the first to the last memory everything was golden and daisy fields, though there was one hurricane.

She took me shopping, bought me
Toys my dad said “no” to She fed me everything my mom said wasn’t healthy. Chocolate cake, classic coke, and crazy candies She downright spoiled me.

Then one day, she had bandages on her neck.
Then after a few months she was carting around an IV.
Then after a couple of years she was restricted to a hospital bed.
Throat cancer.

She eventually couldn't keep up as this
Luma Lynai, running around and entertaining
Me hours on end. Superwoman had found her kryptonite.
Seeing her struggle to sit up in her hospital bed was what slapped me with the realization of how sick she was.

she would stumble, but say “it’s nothing “not wanting any sorrow as if it could hurt her more.
Eating was the only option. At one point she was Emeril feeding the whole family, then she went to being barley able to bring the spoon to her own mouth

Instead of going shopping and going to the cinema we stayed home. She would occasionally muster up the strength to play goldfish while we
Watched soap operas in a language that only she could
Understand.

When she could no longer complete the little things our days turned
Into me sitting bedside, talking to her, taking all measures
To make her crack even the slightest smile.
.

As a 6 year old thought that she'd recover and Things would fall back into place. That thought never flinched until The day came when she could no longer crack a smile.
