In Search of Light
I have always been sensitive to light
No matter where it comes from
Yet everywhere I go
I go looking for the sun.
The sunlight filtered greenly through the leaves,
Catching you,
As you caught up to me,
And fell in beside me,
Your smile as sweet as the taste of crisp green apples.
And so I bloomed,
Somewhere next to you.
The more I tried to look away,
The more you became the only thing I saw.
I lay sprawled at your feet,
Heart laid bare for all to see,
As I stumbled at your footstep.
