Elle est la Vie
She is the sun that sets over terror and rises
Over blood and broken glass.
She is the fog that lingers over
Each body in the grass.
She is the driving force of existence,
That will push you to your knees—
Listen to me!
When you fall to your knees, get back to your feet.
Don’t think it’ll pass— because she never sleeps!
It’s all about time, precision is key.
You’re running and falling, and now you see-
Just how her clock ticks so mercilessly.
In her heat you realize
The things you’re scared of
Make you who you’re supposed to be;
The things that hurt you the most
Are exactly what you need.
Embrace the bang from the barrel of a gun,
Pay no heed to the screams.
Learn the rhythm of the war drums-
That is how she taps her feet.
Elle est la vie,
She is life.
