TRUE Love
I believe in true love.
Not the fairy tale kind of true love,
where the prince comes and sweeps you off your feet,
but the real true love.
The kind that makes you look at the whole world differently.
The kind that makes your head spin just thinking about it
The kind that makes you wanna dance around your room
The kind that makes you want to kiss babies
The kind that makes you wake up every morning with a smile on your face
TRUE Love.
I thought I knew what true love was
but I didn't.
I thought true love meant letting someone have something you didn't want to give away
I thought true love meant keeping quiet when you felt uncomfortable
I thought true love meant accepting all the criticism he had to give
I thought true love meant sacrificing your own happiness for his
I thought true love meant never stating your own opinions
I thought true love meant throwing up to make yourself skinnier for him
I thought true love meant letting him do whatever he wanted to you, whenever he wanted
I though true love meant never telling anyone what happened
I thought that was true love
but you wanna know something?
It wasn't.
True love is eating as much as you want and not being criticized
True love is being able to say no without fear of repercussions
True love is getting up in the middle of the night to get you water
True love is butterflies in your stomach every time you see him
True love is savoring the moment when its just you two in the car together
True love is stealing kisses at church
True love is holding hands across the table at Dennys
True love is laughing so hard you can't stop snorting
True love is never having to change
And I can tell you from experience,
True love does exist.
