Why do I pray?
Strange question.
Why did I live?
Why did I breathe?
Where is God’s Mercy?
How can I believe,
How can anyone believe in this God of Mercy?

Surely it was a dream
I see a fire! I see flames, huge flames!
Where is God’s Mercy?
But it was all in vain.

Our terror could no longer be contained.
God is testing us.
What had happened to me?
Where is God’s Mercy?

I pinched myself.
Was I still alive?
Was I awake?
Never shall I forget those things, even were I condemned to live as long as God Himself.
Never.

Where is this God’s Mercy?
My throat was dry and the words were choking me, paralyzing my lips.
