Consent
A touch.
A five letter word.
Why doesn’t the word five have 5 letters?
Brings
A tear.
A cry of despair rolling down your check.
Do only our semantics make it mean what it means?
You’re
Leaving.
For the store or for life.
Did you know that in leaving you were leaving me behind?
Without
Consent.
Telling someone they can.
Is consent required for doing what you did?
A touch brings a tear.
You’re leaving without consent.
Depression.
A mental disease you don’t know till it’s inside you.
Will your dark cloud ever leave the sky?
Without
Hope.
Something worth living for.
But is there still without your hand to hold?
You’re
Betrayal.
There’s still that knife in my back.
Did you know about my scalpel? Did that make you glad?
Brings
Numbness.
Your feelings have run out.
Who gave your heart the frostbite that it has?
A touch brings a tear.
You’re leaving without consent.
Depression without hope.
Your betrayal stabs my back;
all I feel is numbness.
Just this tingling.
The whole world is gone.
Yet we’re still spinning,
And I’m begging to get off.
Would that make you glad?
