To Be
What we call life is just a collection of our experiences
A book, a novel, compiled section by section, line by line.
When your collage is finally completed
And the final seal is added,
Do you want it to be a quick and easy read,
Or a deep, heart wrenching journey,
Which leaves the reader wanting more,
More of you, of your experiences, your actions.
Make sure your novel is less Seuss and more Twain,
Do all that you can to be more than you are.
Be a lover.
Be a fighter.
Be a friend.
Be an inspiration.
Be a mentor.
Be a student.
Be a traveler.
Be a wanderer.
Be known.
Be loved.
Be awake.
Be present.
Be all you can be,
But never, ever
Be satisfied.
