A Windows Pain
Ba-boom, Ba-boom
Your heart so brittle
So new
Ba-boom, Ba-boom
The metal attachment
A sky blue stethoscope
Cautiously but hastily checks the heart beat
Ba-boom, Ba-boom
Frantic screams
Tears that make the biggest ocean
It wasn’t time that could tell
If you would be able to see mama’s face
Ba-boom, Ba-boom
Red, brown, purple, black
Clouds formed in the room
Shoes running down the hallway
Not a room unable to feel
The shock waves of pain
Ba-boom, Ba-boom
Rubbing your shoulder
Hugging you
Wiping away the bitter salt
Voices inside your head
Prayers being said
Not enough to keep you calm
Ba-boom, Ba-boom
Chicago, Illinois
Already a frigid place
Just lost one of its futures best
Tears turned into raindrops
That rolled down the windowpane
Not a soul untouched
By every last beat
Ba-boom, Ba-boom, baaa, beeeeeeeeeeep…
