I don’t need it, can’t you see

I'm fine with how it used to be

You can’t just force it on me since I'm now old

Ive hardly lived but your story is told

I think I’ll run miles away

Until I find reason to stay

Turned me out with your eye

My soul has learned not to sigh

Remember when I couldn’t

You never said I shouldn’t

So I did it to spite the wellness in your veins

But the skin I’m scrubbing at is mine with stains

I don’t even know if it tainted

The same things we agreed we hated

Only one, only one, they tell me so

I’ll give it back if for sure I’ll know

I’m waiting, waiting

They’ll never cut these wires

They keep me together, keep them out

You cut a few, loosened when I let you

Why did you persist in twisting me darker?
