Yelp/

A herd of Meleagrididae/
With blue heads raise their heads to the sky,/
Drinking the rain, while other creatures rush/
Their progeny out of the field, away from the storm/
Huddled together like sheep on a meadow, the fowls/
Become a whirlwind of chocolate and ivory feathers./
The pebbled walls of the birds' breasts shimmer like/
Rainbows at aurora. Their tails spin into elaborate/
Skirts of flamenco dancers. On the edge of the hardwood/
Forest, baby finches watch safely in their nest as the/
Damaged silk draping the majestic beasts' feet cavort/
Gleefully in liquid sunshine and deluge./
Throat choked up, beak wide open/
A few seconds later, the/
Turkeys/
Fall/
From/
Hydro/
Asphyxia.
