Save Yourself
Save Yourself.
Curves, Edges, Lines, and Labels.
Who decides fat. Who decides able.
Trying to cope, can’t find a way.
Everyone judges you, all day, every day.
No one can say, who started our curse.
Was it the television or just a school nurse.
Never enough and always to overweight.
Never perfect and thin but always underweight.
No one is happy when they look in the mirror.
Craving acceptance, the end feels nearer.
No one to hold you. They don’t understand.
Who could you even trust to hold your hand?
At any given time, we are thinking of our imperfections.
Is this a disgrace? Is this an obsession?
Save yourself. Before you can’t stop it.
Don’t let go, you’re not allowed to quit.
Ask all your friends. Tell all your mothers.
Before it’s too late. And we lose another.
