The Goblin
His eyes were cold and dark like the emptiness of space
His chest a swollen cavity weighed down by the boulder on his left side
His laugh so deep and sharp it made my bones sweat
and yet
he had managed to lure her
with her deep brown eyes rich like earth
and a heart warm, strong, and fearless
I watched him taint her beauty with his filth and
fill her mind with lies to make her envious
and she grew bitter and cold
they existed as one in the dark emptiness of his space
her heart turned to stone and protruded from her chest
and yet
His eyes... I won’t forget his eyes
They twinkled with the life he had taken from her
