" You Are Life Changing"

My heart pounding, like a drum
Sweat dripping down my face
Awaiting the word to show,
Three minutes of anxiousness.
Finally the word, “pregnant” appeared,
Tears falling down my face
My life will now change forever.
A look of sadness, and disappointment.

Months started to pass,
My belly growing by the week.
Soon I felt your kicks
Such an unexplainable feeling
Bigger and bigger I grew, as if I was holding a basketball.
Stretch marks soon appeared, red and rubbery.
The itchiness was unbearable,
Stretching beyond my limits.

Now I waddle along, as if I am a penguin
The heaviness of my belly slowing me down
The swelling of ankles, and achy back
My body readying for you to arrive
You dropping lower
Making me sore, and my belly change shape.
You never stopped moving around
The pushing of your hands and feet against my belly
Your father, still young and immature,
Now having to grow up.
Soon our little family will be official,
I see my future with him.
His hands always touching my belly
Feeling the connection between you and him,
Our lives together now changed forever.
