Breathing in the scents of fall
She stands still like a statue
Her reflection glistening on the calm lake
Her long, supple hair cascading down her back
A chilling shiver shoots down her spine
And her blue eyes shut

Memories pour over her
As she thinks back to those sweet summer days
When her mama was still there

Those days were bliss.

Drinking pink lemonade while sitting in the sun
Laughing about life
Dancing around the soft grass, barefoot

But standing here now
On this cool autumn day
She was alone
With only the green lake
And the howling wind
To keep her company
