The ground wavered beneath
me as my vision focused and
I nearly toppled over but as my eyes saw
double and my hands
grew clammy, I realized I was not under
the warm covers but out instead
out in the open, the open where
up was not up and down was not down
where the universe extended past the deadly sins but wait

Another realm that followed me to my heart
my mind my soul, another dimension that was there
but I could not hold
where does the light cross the dark
is that fiery fire flame flaming beneath me or
the sound of salt whistling through the rolling waves
the salt of the ocean that had danced on my tongue before
I can’t tell anymore
Where am I?

Standing high somewhere, I knew that for sure
since my lungs were collapsing
since my head was spinning
since I fell
and I fell
I fell
