To be brave
She is happy
She is care-free
She has nothing to worry about
Except
What will happen when she will come home
She sees the menacing eyes of her father
She hides behind her mother
She can’t escape him
She has no where to go
She is alone
There is no one to save her
No one to tell her they love her
She approches him
Revealing her hiding spot behind her mother’s back
She sees the tears in her mother’s eyes
And she whispers her love for her
She dares not turn around
To see her mother’s last plea
She ignores the pain
She tries to be brave
Because she knows what awaits her
She breathes her last breath
Thinking of her mother
And the beauty in a better place
