Memories
That day was fun
The day we laughed and
Nothing could get in our way.
That day we felt immortal,
But if only that smile could have been there
Of that boy who everyone loved.
That memory would’ve lasted
Forever.
He wasn’t simple,
He was our best disgrace.
We all shared him,
We all shared the same smile.
But that day
Oh, that day,
We had fun,
With his memory there.
Although his funeral was long before,
His spirit remained alive.
Burning in the engine of those cars.
His words breathed in our screams of joy,
His laugh blurted out in our own,
He stayed with us within our enjoyment,
But if he could’ve been there
The world would come back to peace.
That boy who hung by a leather necklace,
That boy who was found not breathing
It was him who tore our hearts apart
Still beating.
Yet it was the memory of him,
That night
The night of celebration for his life,
That mended our hearts back together.
