Hallways Come To Life
Sitting in class staring at the clock
Knowing the bell will ring in seconds.
You hear the piercing sound
From the bell as it vibrates your chair.
Everyone rushes out to the hall
And you slowly walk behind
As you know what follows
This everyday routine.
People are shouting across the hall.
Others whispering with gossip filled words.
You might not be the smallest in the hallway
But you are easily pushed around
Into the lockers beside you.
Your shoulders ache after every encounter.
Finally arriving at your destination
You stop and hear your name
Wondering what the populars are saying
About you. Before you can finish
Your train of thought they
Burst out with laughter
And turn to you with a smirk.
Bell ringing everyone scatters
And your humiliation is over
Until the next bell rings.
