Age 5
Holding my dolls
Pulling her shirt
Asking her to play with me
Nothing but a push away
But still wanting to be with her

Age 10
Not much to ask
Knowing she won’t come ride a bike
Accepting her absence
But still wishing for moments to play

Age 15
Resentment and bitterness in the air
Not taking her hand out for help
No desire for dolls or bike rides
Feeling the need of solitude
Nothing but pushing her away

Age 18
Recognizing our mistakes
Accepting our mistakes
Starting our friendship
