Distance
Don’t ever fall in love
Not with someone so far away
They’ll call you crazy
You’ll laugh and shake your head
They just don’t get it
But they’re right
You must realize by now
That it’s absolute torture
You’re here with me
Through a screen, on my phone, in my heart
I feel your emotions
When you’re sad, I’m sad
I get you
The way you think
The way you see the world
I get it all
I love it and I love you
But 577 miles
And a state in between us
It’s not a country
But it’s just enough for my insides to feel the ache
The jealousy towards everyone who can see you everyday
No kisses or soft, sweet touches
Not for us
They romanticize the pain
And how tragic our love is
But they don’t realize the longing
And how it actually hurts
