The days in the gym are worth the tears, rips, and falls
In the end I get a round of applause
Stepping in London as team USA
My goal was to make this a historic day
First event, vault
I will run with force for the heartless, disabled, and shy
The ones told they couldn’t reach for the sky
They believed they were nothing at all
But I am a fighter; I will win for them all
In the end I end up on the podium
I stand as gold medalist and I embrace the world
Remember to follow your dreams, to be lead down an inviting trail
There will be blockades and many side rails
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger
So be persistent and you’ll be a fighter as well
