Mason’s #1
He is at every home game
And travels to some away games
When I see him in the stands. With his jersey on
Bearing my name and number you can hear him say
“HI! I’m Mason”

As I warm up he sees me from across the rink
I hear this 2 year olds voice screaming across the way
And with a wave I give him a wink.
“BUBBA!!!”

When I hear the fans begin to clash
Leading it on, with his hands cuffed around his mouth
You see a little blonde boy, chanting
“Let’s Go Eagles, Let’s GO!”

After our home games he waits by the locker room door
With his fist stretched out to pound
Gloves gently touch his hand
And very soft voice you get a
“Good game!”

His heart loves the game
Hockey is all that’s on his mind
From the kitchen to the ice rink
All that comes from my nephew,
“Play hockey with me?”
