Danger
Warning
In bold letters
DANGER
Possible death could result
Reads the paper
Today I am an adult
I sign the paper
They strap me into my harness
I climb up a steal ladder into a plane
It’s a small plane with no seats inside
I sit on the ground along with seventeen other people
We sit close in an awkward position straddling one another
When the plane reaches fourteen thousand feet the door slides open
The cold wind howls through the plane
A guy jumps out followed by a few others
Then my tandem partner stands us up
We walk to the edge
As I look down everything seems to come to a halt
Earth is quit
It is all so surreal
I think
Is this really happening
I see the top of the airplane as my stomach drops
I don’t remember jumping
I’m falling
Falling
Falling
I am overwhelmed with excitement as gravity takes place
We freefall for a minuet
Then
The parachute deploys
We float back to earth
And safely land
There are no words
Nothing is comparable
Skydiving was defiantly the best way to spend my eighteenth birthday
