We are expected to act like adults
Yet are treated like children, nuisances,
Mindless slobs who eat and sleep the days away.
We are expected to tell the truth
Yet are constantly lied to.
These are supposed to be the best days of our lives,
Yet we control nothing
For our parents breathe down our necks
Like lions stalking their prey watching, listening,
To our every step, breath, step, and word
Waiting, waiting to pounce on our mistakes
Yet somehow it seems
As if nothing they do
Is Wrong...
